Clonakilty Waterfront Festival 2012

Big Headliners Announced

A mouth-watering line-up for this year’s Clonakilty Waterfront Festival has been announced, with a list of national and international acts to rock the stage on the August long weekend.

The food and music festival, which takes place from Thursday, 2 August to Sunday, 5 August inclusive, will host an eclectic mix of entertainment, markets and music to thrill festival revellers from all over the country.

The hugely popular UK band, Scouting for Girls, will headline the festival in West Cork on the Saturday night and will no doubt rock the stage with their hit singles ‘This Ain’t A Love Song’, ‘Elvis Isn’t Dead’, ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘She’s So Lovely’. Irish trio The Kanyu Tree and the very popular Relish will also hit the stage on Saturday night.

Everyone is talking about going to see international star and member of the Black Eyed Peas, Taboo, set off the Full Moon Party on Sunday night with his headlining DJ set. Taboo will join the lineup as part of his European tour.

The massive RTE 2FM’s Electric Disco with Jenny Greene is back and is a very exciting addition to the Full Moon Party. The Electric Disco rocked the festival in recent years with banging tunes and a sell-out performance. It will, no doubt, do the very same this time around.

Irish rock bands Republic of Loose and The 4 Of Us will hit the festival stage on the Friday night and promise a fantastic gig with their well-known songs.

Of course, music is not the only item on the agenda for ClonFest 2012 with the hugely popular “Flavours of West Cork” returning to the festival tent for another year on Thursday night with Gerry Fish and the Mudbug Club and Café Orchestra and a host of delicious local artisan produce from restaurants and suppliers for all to enjoy.

The signature food and craft market and Strong Man Competition will also take place over the weekend, so get training for the big event.

The Clonakilty Waterfront Festival promises to be a fantastic few days for all and with tickets selling out last year, make sure to purchase your tickets now, either online through Ticketmaster or at local outlets.
